I opted for the difficult Road..!!

Posted by Unknown on 02:21
I started walking like many others,
I saw many obstacles and broke some of them,

But the rest shattered me apart,
though I smiled,
I met many people, some accepted me,But some rejected,
though I smiled,

The pain was less and the hopes were more,
Because I knew I opted for THE DIFFICULT ROAD.

The sun was setting down and so were my hopes,
My heart clamored and eyes went misty,
My condition was miserable,
though I smiled,

Many I met promised to stay till the end,
But when I searched I found only me,
All the promises were found fake,
though I smiled,

Now hopes were few and tears were more,
And I doubted why I opted for THE DIFFICULT ROAD.

As I moved forward I already half way down,
And I have learned to travel alone and free,
All were surprised and now I smiled,
I can see the end waiting for me to come,
Now my eyes were dried,
though I cried,
And was happy that I opted THE DIFFICULT ROAD.

My love for you WAS real...!

Posted by Unknown on 21:27
Sometimes at night, when I look to the sky,
I start thinking of you and then ask myself, why?
Why do I love you? I think and smile,
because I know the list could run on for miles.
The whisper of your voice, the warmth of your touch,
so many little things that make me love you so much.
The way you support me, and help with my emotions,
the way that you care and show such devotion.
The way that your kiss, fills me with desire,
and how you hold me with the warmth of a blazing fire.
The way your eyes shine when you look at me,
lost with you forever is where I want to be.
The way that I feel when you're by my side,
a sense of completion and overflowing pride.
The dreams that I dream, that all involve you,
the possibilities I see and the things we can do.
How you finish the puzzle that lies inside my heart,
how that deep in my soul, you are the most important part.
I could go on for days, telling of what I feel,
but all you really must know is my love for you WAS real.

MEANING OF JAN-GAN-MAN

Posted by Unknown on 10:43
SOURCE-"i used google for it,and visited from many articles.after that i wrote this.

MEANING of JAN-GAN-MAN

Many people think that India's national anthem was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of England when they visited India in 1919.  Infact it was first sung at the Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress on 27 December 1911 but it was never meant to honour any king or queen (though their sycophant may have given them a english version suited to their feeders).
Tagore’s poem (which was later adopted as National Anthem) indicates actual thinking and mentality of Indian People

Read Carefully this poem Again. I have translated it to English also

"Jan Gan Man Adhinayak Jai He"
( I Pray the leader who is leaving and rule in the mind of common and urban people )
--- Here Tagore indicate not only to the prime power but to the Most popular and ancient kings of India Like Ram who are still in Indian peoples thinking.

"Bharat Bhagya Vidhata"
( Builder of Indian future )
--- No any poet of India can give so much respect to any of emperor that he is builder of future of any country. It can only be the prime power i.e God.

"Tav shubh name jage
tav shubh ashish mange
gahe tav jay gatha"

( We wake up at morning by remembering your name,
We want your order to do any work,
We sing ur stories)

--- Now this is common habit of an Indian people at early morning that each Indian remember his/ her Mother and father, respected persons and God. Never did any Indian remembered British ruler at morning even in pre independence era. We have always sought blessings of God and "tav shubh ashish mange " indicate this opinion.

"gahe tav jai gatha "
indicates common habit of Indian that they pray to God by singing and remembering his ascent stories like Geeta and Ramayan.

" Jai he Jai he Jai he
Jai Jai Jai Jai he"

This also is an Indian Aarti rule that at the end of Aarti, people call Jai-jaiKar at loud volume.
Jai he Jai he and Jai he is "Victory, Victory, Victory to India".And he here represents Hind i.e India
It could not mean to pay tribute to any Britisher in any way.

On 10 November 1937 Tagore wrote a letter to Mr Pulin Bihari Sen about the controversy. That letter in Bengali can be found in Tagore's biography Ravindrajivani, volume II page 339 by Prabhatkumar Mukherjee.
"A certain high official in His Majesty's service, who was also my friend, had requested that I write a song of felicitation towards the Emperor. The request simply amazed me. It caused a great stir in my heart. In response to that great mental turmoil, I pronounced the victory in Jana Gana Mana of that Bhagya Vidhata [ed. God of Destiny] of India who has from age after age held steadfast the reins of India's chariot through rise and fall, through the straight path and the curved. That Lord of Destiny, that Reader of the Collective Mind of India, that Perennial Guide, could never be George V, George VI, or any other George. Even my official friend understood this about the song. After all, even if his admiration for the crown was excessive, he was not lacking in simple common sense."

Again in his letter of 19 March 1939 Tagore writes,
"I should only insult myself if I cared to answer those who consider me capable of such unbounded stupidity as to sing in praise of George the Fourth or George the Fifth as the Eternal Charioteer leading the pilgrims on their journey through countless ages of the timeless history of mankind." (Purvasa, Phalgun, 1354, p738.)

Moreover, Tagore was hailed as a patriot who wrote other songs too apart from "Jana gana Mana" lionizing the Indian independence movement. He renounced his knighthood in protest against the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The Knighthood i.e. the title of 'Sir' was conferred on him by the same King George V after receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature for "Gitanjali" from the government of Sweden. Two of Tagore's more politically charged compositions, "Chitto Jetha Bhayshunyo" ("Where the Mind is Without Fear" :Gitanjali Poem#35) and "Ekla Chalo Re" ("If They Answer Not to Thy Call, Walk Alone"), gained mass appeal, with the latter favoured by Gandhiji and Netaji.

So to hell with the translation given at Wikipedia, I think it’s the feeling for own mother land that actually matters and if the feeling is not there no poem/national anthem can invoke that in you.

Your safety is paramount...!

Posted by Unknown on 06:55

Today has been a horrific day for me after reading into the details of the barbaric gang rape in our national capital. There can be no plausible explanations for this loathsome act and all ludicrous justifications that the society has been giving to rapes is not applicable here. The victim was not alone, she was not wearing provocative clothes, she was not out at midnight and she was not in a shady or dark corners of the city. She, a medical student, was returning from a movie at 9:15 pm with a friend (like you and me would on any normal day), when those six monsters wretched her pleasant evening.

Its been long since we have been condemning the immoral and patriarchal society we live in, is the cause of all these rapes, which needs a complete reform in the mentality of our society. But cultivating those moral values and that respect for women might take years or decades, meanwhile, you or me cannot let our friends, sisters, wife or neighbors walk into these fearsome streets of this country.

So what should we do? Lock them/yourself up in rooms and ban the women on streets. Not at all. Let us help equip every women, we know, with some basic self defense techniques.

Before listing down few points for self defense I thought of listing down all the rapes that has occurred in this country and have appeared in the prominent newspaper during this month. This will entice anger among my female friends, which is necessary to keep up the motivation for practicing these steps.

18th Dec: TODAY

17th Dec: A 17-year-old, who set herself on fire after being raped a few days ago in Nashik by a relative, died at a civil hospital with 70 per cent burns, the police said on Sunday.

16th Dec: A 13-year-old girl was gang-raped allegedly by four persons at Kambalapadu, near Podili in Prakasam district in the wee hours of Saturday.

14th Dec: A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old mentally disabled girl in a village in Sindagi taluk.

13th Dec: In a shocking incident, a man who persuaded his family friends in Malligehalli in Hassan district to send their four-year-old daughter with him to get her treated for an injured leg, has raped and savaged the child.

10th Dec: The Mumbai police on Sunday arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly raping a 62-year-old woman at her home in the Marol area in a western suburb of Mumbai.

9th Dec: In yet another shocking indicator to the moral degeneration of society, the police have registered a case against a man on the charges of molesting his six-year-old daughter after giving her alcohol.

8th Dec: A young Rwandan national was allegedly gang-raped by four persons at Timarpur in North Delhi on December 3.

7th Dec: In a case where a 17-year-old domestic maid was repeatedly raped leading to her getting pregnant and delivering a baby boy at the office of a placement agency in Shakurpur in North-West Delhi after which the infant was sold by the agency owners to a social worker for Rs.23,000....

6th Dec: A 21-year-old youth was sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in 2010.

6th Dec: A 70-year-old woman was raped by a young relative at Budhakhera village in Haryana.

5th Dec: The police said the four-year-old had been sexually assaulted for many days but it came to light only when she came home crying on Monday.

5th Dec: A partially paralysed man has been sentenced to five years in jail by a Delhi court for attempting to rape an intellectually and physically challenged minor girl.

5th Dec: A rape accused’s bid to escape the law by faking his death and furnishing a false certificate before the court has been foiled with his arrest two years later.

4th Dec: A 15-year-old tribal girl was allegedly gangraped in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh and nine persons, including two minor boys, were arrested in this case, police said on Monday.

3rd Dec: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a temple priest in Mangolpuri here two days ago.According to the police, the victim had gone to a temple close to her house.

3rd Dec: A youth has been sentenced to two years in jail by a Delhi court for kidnapping and molesting his minor cousin after confining her in a room for seven days.

1st Dec: Two young men accused of gang-rape of a married woman from a Scheduled Caste allegedly committed suicide in the early hours of Friday by jumping in front of a moving train on the Rohtak-Delhi railway track near Kanheli village in Haryana, said the police.

Imagine, the above list includes only the list of incidents that appeared in Hindu newspaper (Hindu Link). From this we can make out the magnitude of such cases happening all over the country when most of them are not even registered.

Though I am no self defense expert, I have googled and tried to compile an exhaustive list of what women can do at the minimal to try prevent themselves from such incidents.
  1. AwarenessThe first, and probably most important, component in self-defence is awareness: awareness of yourself, your surroundings, and your potential attacker’s likely strategies. Be ready with exit strategy.
  2. Use your sixth sense. “Sixth sense.” “Gut instinct.” Whatever you call it, your intuition is a powerful subconscious insight into situations and people. All of us have this gift, but very few of us pay attention to it. Learn to trust this power and use it to your full advantage. Avoid a person or a situation which does not “feel” safe–you’re probably right.
  3. Plan in advance. If you're going out to party on night, make a plan with your friends. Know ahead of time where you're meeting and whether you're all leaving together. Look out for one another and be up front about what you're hoping to get out of the night.
  4. Set your own boundaries (whatever they may be) and be prepared to defend them. So say you're dressed "racy" or like Pretty Women pre-Rodeo Drive. Whatever! You do you, girl! But say someone sees that as a license to do something you don't like or don't want. Use a strong voice and body language to make your boundaries clear. Know that it's all about attitude, rather than clothing, when it comes to protecting yourself. Give you (and your "unwanted admirer") an out by making an excuse to get out of the situation, such as needing to find your friend or whatever. If he can't take the hint, a clear "no" or "back-off" will likely work.
  5. Yell. If you are in a crowded place like bus or train being eve teased or touched inappropriately, shout. Don't be shy of what others will think, there will sure be someone out of so many people to help you out.
  6. Escape. Always your best option. What if the unthinkable happens? You are suddenly confronted by a predator who demands that you go with him–be it in a car, or into an alley, or a building. It would seem prudent to obey, but you must never leave the primary crime scene. You are far more likely to be killed or seriously injured if you go with the predator than if you run away (even if he promises not to hurt you). Run away, yell for help, throw a rock through a store or car window–do whatever you can to attract attention. And if the criminal is after your purse or other material items, throw them one way while you run the other.
  7. Use your elbow. Elbow is the strongest part of your body. Keep it in front of your body while walking in crowded places.
  8. Pepper spray. Pepper spray, like other self-defence aids, can be a useful tool. Red chilli powder can be used as a substitute to this. (currently its not available on flipkart, but hope it is soon)
  9. Right to fight. Unfortunately, no matter how diligently we practice awareness and avoidance techniques, we may find ourselves in a physical confrontation. Whether or not you have self-defence training, and no matter what your age or physical condition, it is important to understand that you CAN and SHOULD defend yourself physically. You have both the moral and legal right to do so, even if the attacker is only threatening you and hasn’t struck first. Many women worry that they will anger the attacker and get hurt worse if they defend themselves, but statistics clearly show that your odds of survival are far greater if you do fight back. Keep a stick in your purse. Aim for the eyes first and the groin second. Remember, though, to use the element of surprise to your advantage–strike quickly, and mean business. You may only get one chance.
  10. Home invasions. A crime on the rise. The primary way to prevent a home invasion is simply to never, ever open your door unless you either are certain you know who’s on the other side or can verify that they have a legitimate reason for being there (dressing up as a repair person or even police officer is one trick criminals use)

    Follow these things...!
    Thanks...

❝7 Lessons from the Book "Life Of Pi"❞

Posted by Unknown on 15:18

Yann Martel's Booker Prize winning book, Life of Pi has been transformed beautifully into celluloid by Ang Lee ofCrouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain fame.

It's a story of the protagonist Pi's magical journey on a lifeboat with Richard Parker, a Royal Bengal Tiger for company and in the process discovering himself, faith and God.

A captivating story with many dimensions and visually stunning, the movie leaves you engrossed till the end and has also got high ratings from both the critics and audience.

There are also some great lessons in life and business, that one
can learn from Life Of Pi.
--------------------------------------------------------

1. ❝If you believe in everything, you'll end up not believing in anything at all❞

In the film, Pi's father Santosh Patel told this to Pi at the dining table, when he was getting inquisitive about different religions and wanted to follow all of them at the same time.

His words hold true, not only for religion, but are also valid for our daily life and business.

It's difficult to follow different paths at the same time, as many of them are conflicting in nature and often create confusion and make it difficult to stay focused and at times, lead to wastage of crucial resources.

As an entrepreneur, it's also important to choose your mentors, guides wisely.

Listening to all sorts of advice will harm your chances and cause delay in reaching your end goal. As with faith and advisors in life, entrepreneurs must be careful in choosing their business model and target group.

In early days, when an entrepreneur is trying to establish his business, it's important to prioritise and decide on whether you're targeting SME's or Large Enterprises or you're operating in B2B or B2C segment for the matter.

Pursuing divergent and often energy sapping paths lead to quick burnouts and eventual disillusionment with the whole process

----------------------------------------------------

2. ❝Branding is important❞

Pi Patel was born with the name Piscina Molitor Patel, given by his uncle after a swimming pool in France.

This name obviously caused him lot of anguish as everyone started making fun of his name at school and outside. Pi had to work hard on a rebranding exercise.

He realised early, that his name can cause him more pain, going ahead in life.

At first, he tried to work on individuals, and later started addressing groups about his name being derived from the Greek letter Pi which is ratio of a circle's circumference by diameter. But, it didn't work well for him.

So, he decided to remember the value of Pi expressed in several hundred decimal places to drive home the point.

Associating a story with the name made it work even better for him. So, if you have to work on creating a new brand name of changing your existing brand name for that matter, work on telling a good story which captures the imagination of the audience.

The story makes the brand name stick. And, as Pi Patel learnt it the hard way, rebranding can be a difficult and often expensive exercise.

So, if you inherit an unimaginative or not so great brand name, starting rebranding exercise early as Pi did really helps.
Come to think of it, if the book or movie title was Life Of Piscine Molitor, it may not have worked that well.

Choosing a good brand name could be your first step towards creating a successful brand.
--------------------------------------------------

3. ❝Having a plan is essential, not optional❞

When Pi was thrown into the sea on the lifeboat with limited stock of resources after his ship capsized, he had to make a plan to survive the uncertain and indeterminate period in the harsh seas.
Fortunately, he found a handbook to help him plan for the time on the lifeboat.

If you're an entrepreneur, think of the handbook as your business plan. It's important to keep it handy and work according to the plan and of course, keep referring to it, when you're in doubt and monitor progress as you go along.

Probably, the most important resource for an entrepreneur is money and in the beginning, when income is low and uncertain, an entrepreneur needs to make sure, the money (resources) lasts till revenues kick in or next round of funding (help) comes in the choppy waters of entrepreneurial journey.

In life also, continuous planning for different stages of your life, and not only during the difficult days, when resources are low, will help you live a good life.

--------------------------------------------------------

4. ❝Don't put all your eggs in one basket❞

When Pi found Richard Parker on the life boat, he got scared and threw all the supplies in the lifeboat to a makeshift raft and tied it to the life boat and decided to shift to the raft.

At that moment, it looked like the wise thing to do, without taking into consideration greater dangers, still unknown to him.

When the breaching whale appeared at night and upturned Pi's raft throwing all his supplies to the water, Pi realised, living with Mr Parker on the boat may be a better option.

While starting up, resources are typically scarce and it's important to guard them and stop leakages or losses.

It's good to have one secure base and address the market.

Entering unknown and uncharted territories without adequate research and throwing resources at the market and not protecting your own backyard could be a deadly mistake, few start-ups can afford.

Also, if you have limited resources and there are multiple products, fighting for the same resource, it's better to spread your resources across groups to reduce dependency on one product to succeed, which is a low probability in a highly uncertain start-up environment.

In life, whether you're investing for a secure and a better future, it's good to spread your resources across various available options.

For career improvements, consider skill enhancement and be aware of the job market realities and don't just tie yourself to your current company, to stay relevant in the long run.

-------------------------------------------------------

5. ❝Learn to co-exist❞

After the whale incident, Pi had to reconcile to the fact that he has to live with Mr Parker on the lifeboat, an idea, which he had been resisting so far.

As a first step, he decided to start communicating with Mr Parker and also set out marking their territories and setting some rules.

Having Mr Parker on board also kept him alert at all times. When
Mr Parker jumped in the waters of Pacific Ocean, looking for fish, Pi helped him to get on board and slowly, he started developing a bond with him.

Mr Parker is both a co-founder and a competitor for Pi in his entrepreneurial journey. An entrepreneur needs to co-exist with both.

With co-founders, it's important to communicate clearly, define roles and responsibilities and ensure that you don't encroach upon each other's spaces.

An entrepreneur needs to learn to co-exist with competition in the market.

Competition keeps him alert and on his toes. And it's important to keep the competition healthy and not indulge in unethical, dirty tactics in the market.

This may even mean, occasionally helping a competitor, while fiercely protecting your market share, if it helps the overall market grow.
----------------------------------------

6. ❝Keep moving❞

When Pi reached the mysterious floating island of carnivorous algae inhabited by meerkats, it seemed like, he has reached an oasis of life with bountiful food, water and shelter.

But, it probably symbolises the idea of settling for something average when there could be something much better in store.

Covering the last mile is often the most difficult part of the journey, especially when your body and mind wants to give up.
Also, it could potentially be a dangerous compromise fraught with dangers, just like living in the island which turns carnivorous at night.

In life and business, it's important to keep moving and not get complacent with interim success, related to reaching some milestones.

It's important to keep an eye on the final destination.
Pi kept looking for signs like observing the meerkats running for high ground or finding the tooth inside the flower.

An entrepreneur also, has to keep his ears close to the ground and constantly keep evolving and updating his product by launching new versions or even launching new products to address new gaps in the market.

Sometimes, it may also mean, changing the business model or exiting the market, if the market dynamics necessitate such an action.
------------------------------------

7. ❝ Don't give up❞

Life Of Pi is a story of perseverance and a story of not giving up, even in the harshest of conditions.

Pi didn't give up hope and he kept moving. Whether it's the black sea or the dark clouds or the ominous waves or the hungry predator as company, Pi never gave up hope of survival.

Similarly, for an entrepreneur, it's important to remember, that the darkest days are not going to last. It's important, not to give up on your dreams and give up on life.

So, the days, when you are down and in state of despair and almost on the verge of giving up, you must remember, that this stage like everything else in life is only temporary and this too shall pass.

There are times, when it may seem like you have tried everything possible within your means and there is only a little more that you can do.

In those hours, it's important to remember, that there is someone watching out for you and you're not here without a reason.

There will always be some opportunities like the flying fish for food or rains for drinking water or the floating island for a bit of rest and respite, which will sustain you, till you reach the shores of success, provided you don't give up.
